Four children have been found alive after 40 days in the Amazon jungle in Colombia. The siblings, aged 13, nine, four and a one-year-old baby, were found by Colombia's military, helped by the Huitoto indigenous group.

Their mother and two pilots died in the plane crash, which happened after the pilot sent a help message, known as a mayday alert, for engine failure.

Colombia's president, Gustavo Petro, said, "I'm glad that the children were found safe and sound after such a long and difficult ordeal. I admire their resilience and courage."

Colombia's aviation authority gave a statement about how the children survived. It said they left the plane and the crash site and walked through the jungle to get help.

The children's knowledge of the rainforest helped them survive. The children belong to the Huitoto indigenous group so they knew which plants were edible in the jungle.

The word "hangry" is making a comeback. It's a combination of the words "hungry" and "angry" and refers to the feeling of irritability and anger that can be caused by hunger.

New research suggests that being "hangry" is a real phenomenon, and could even be a bona fide medical condition. Scientists studied how hunger affects our daily emotions and found a strong correlation between hunger and feelings of anger and low pleasure.

The researchers analysed data from 64 volunteers who completed surveys on an app five times a day for 21 days. During this time frame, the participants had to rate the extent of their hunger, anger, and pleasure.

The findings showed that there was a "meaningful" link between hunger and emotions. The researchers said that their findings "show, for the first time in a non-laboratory setting, that feeling hungry is associated with greater anger…and lower levels of pleasure."
